Perhaps previous reviewer had a faulty one? I left mine on 3 to pre-heat the bed and found it nice 'n' toasty, any hotter would probably have been too much. I have sciatica and had been trying to use heat packs to warm my painful bits, now I can keep the whole side warm. I only gave it four stars because you're supposed to leave 4-6 inches between the bottom of the blanket and the end of the mattress - that's where my feet are, so it means the extra foot warmth is extra ankle warmth. Rating: - Sleepless in a cold bed...
complete waste of time. I've had electric blankets all my life, i don't like getting into a cold bed. unfortunatley my usual blanket stopped working after having it for years and i recently purchased this brand. However i returned it the day after. after plugging the blanket in to test it, 5 hours later and the bed was not warm on the higest setting, luke warm i would say if that. no point even having this blanket. it seems if you buy a washable blanket you get less wattage and therfore less heat. ...
