Rating:  - Another Faulty unit Here
After about 7 weeks my Fryer also refused to switch on anymore, had only used it about 3 times during that period. Not impressed. I have contacted Tefal and await a resolution.
Rating:  - Fryin' tonight...well once or twice a week!
Have had this fryer for 3 months and I'm very pleased with it.
It does take up a bit of space on the kitchen worktop and is quite heavy to move when filled with oil (cooled down of course)! But it is for your average family after all.
Viewing window is useless as it steams up when you lower food in.
Other than that, it's a decent product and great value for money.
TIP: If using sunflower oil, keep the temp to 160-170 degrees, otherwise you'll burn the oil and have ... Read More

The switch on this product lasted a matter of a few weeks, as it did with another reviewer. A pity. It's well-designed and functional otherwise.

After suffering with Kenwood's Total Clean fryer we bought this product because it seemed to answer all the faults of the other one. It has a totally removable rectangular lid - no latches or hinges to break or become gunged up. It's rectangular shape also makes for more convenient storage. This product was good at first however after 3 months use, there was a loud POP and smoke after 3 uses, and now the item no longer works. Have been trying to return it ever since!! Very surprised and disappointed that chose Tefal. It took me a longer time to eventually buy one, than the thing actually lasting!!!
