Had it now for 3 days. It looks good and does everything it's supposed to, except......
The first time it was used, it didn't switch off when the water boiled, this has happened several times now, and with different people. Will give it a week or two to see if the fault (stiffness/newness?) wears off and then will contact Breville, although I'm sure I've read a review somewhere on Amazon that wasn't full of their praises.

Everyone comments on this kettle when they come round. It looks great and does what it's supposed to. I'm not sure how environmentally friendly it is with its lights (but I switch it off at the plug when not in use) and it's difficult to tell exactly how many "cups" you are putting in as the water has to go through the filter area before you get to see it in the kettle - but you soon learn! This Kettle is well worth Purchasing, a little bit more expencive than ordenry Kettles, but is worth it your hot drinks tast much better and the lights on the kettle look well cool, and a keep warm button enables you to make hot drinks without having to reboil the keetle and wiil keep the water hot for several hours. This kettle would look good in any kitchen. I like the way the internal lighting changes colour too! The kettle boils in no time at all leaving no scum or film! Although expensive, it is well worth the extra in every way. A wonderful item indeed

I had read some reviews saying that you can't taste the difference and the lid is stiff and is slow to boil. All I can say is I live in a very hard water area in the south of the uk and my coffee wasn't scummy, I didn't have those rings around my mug when you leave a bit of coffee in it, and best of all my teeth didn't have that film over them.
