Rating: - Philips efficient kettle HD4644
Bought this after looking at which review,
says it is a little slow to switch off once boiled but have not found that yet think it's a great item although some reviews have mentioned that leaks from bottom after a time well time will tell so far so good like the one cup idea stops you filling the kettle as most of us have done in the past would recommend to anyone
Rating: - Taste of plastic?
After two weeks and many boils a taste and smell of plastic still lingers in the water from this kettle.
Not sure that I like that even though it has reduced somewhat. A pity as the kettle is otherwise of good size and doesn't make a 'racket' like some other kettles do.
What is the recommended daily does of polymers ? :-)
Rating: - Almost there
My tea tasted odd on a couple of occasions ... we have since worked out that the residual water left in a couple of hours earlier must be thrown out and replaced with fresh water.
Apart from that I am very happy with my purchase.
Rating: - leaking water
I used to have a very basic Philips kettle in the shape of a rooster which lasted 10(!!) years. Unfortunately last year it finally broke and we did some research for another Philips kettle. Initially I thought I spilled it myself, but now we know it's a leak in the kettle. I'm very disappointed that this ... Read More
Rating: - Energy efficient?
One of the claims for this kettle is it's energy efficiency. Well it is 3Kw so no energy efficiency there but it does boil quite quickly. The claim seems to be based on the fact that you put in the kettle only what you need but it is very difficult to see how much water there is in the kettle without lifting the kettle up to the light to view what is inside; tedious. The little neon bulb in the switch is a bit naff in this day and age. Locating the kettle on the base is not as easy as it could be.
